Located in the historic region of Sintra, the project proposes a cluster of autonomous hotel-style accommodation units, conceived as a discreet extension of the natural landscape. The fragmented volumes, integrated with the topography, allow for the organization of a temporary housing complex that offers privacy, natural light, and openness to the outdoors.
Built on a wooden structure, the aparthotel explores the expressiveness of natural materials within a contemporary architectural language. The wooden cladding is contrasted by flat-seamed sheet metal accents that envelop the structure. Photovoltaic panels integrated into the roof supply part of the energy required for operation, while large windows connect the interior with the landscape and private courtyards. Read more
